This is Derbyshire -- A jobless pervert from Derby was jailed for a year after swapping "hideous" child and animal porn when he was bored. Steven Barker, 38, was told by Judge Jonathan Gosling: "You and friends like you create a demand without which there would be no abuse, no images. "You became and continue to be isolated with few friends but you have shown remorse and started to recognise your perverse interest in children." Barker admitted 20 charges of downloading indecent images of children and one of having extreme pornography, which showed sexual activity between dogs, horses and pigs as well as adults. The offences took place between September 2011 and March this year. Although Barker told police he passed on images, he was not charged with sending out child porn. The judge added: "You accept an element of sharing with other people but I must be faithful to the way you were charged - and you were not charged with distribution." Barker of King Street, Derby had never before been in trouble, the city's Crown Court heard. He was banned from unsupervised contact with children and was put on the Sex Offenders' Register for a decade. Will Bennett, mitigating, described the images as "hideous" but said most involved "older children." He told the judge: "This has lost him everything. It started at home, being unemployed, bored, getting himself into areas of the internet that he should not have done. "People will view him with some revulsion. There is obviously shame and remorse from those actions. He shakes and quivers and is obviously terrified of the prospect of a custodial sentence today." But Mr Bennett said there was "one glimmer of hope" because in a second interview, Barker had accepted "there must be some underlying sexual attraction in wanting to view images." That should help him face up to his problem by recognising it. Siward James-Moore, prosecuting, said police raided Barker's home on March 20 "following information received that images had been distributed from his email address." Officers seized two laptops, one tower unit and his iPhone. They found over 2,700 images including three movies. Some of the images were of children aged between three and six but the majority were of "young teens." Mr James-Moore told the court: "There is no definitive evidence that images were distributed, in the sense they could not be isolated. "It is right to say the defendant accepted that he had both sent and received images from other interested parties." Barker made no money from passing on the porn. When first interviewed by police, he said "somewhat implausibly that he had not viewed them for sexual gratification," added Mr James-Moore.
