Successfully celebrates the diversity of its output…*Hyperdub* does soul. Often viewed as a label besotted with edgy, avant-garde electronics, the London powerhouse has more than its fair share of soothing, R&B-tinged moments.
For this compilation, *Terror Danjah* revisits his deft ‘You Make Me Feel’ plate, while Canadian producer *Jessy Lanza* turns in not one but two fantastic cuts.
The late *DJ Rashad* is represented by the agile ‘Only One’ (below), and *Ikonika*’s ‘I Know (That U Are The 1)’ is a perfect slice of future soul.
Perhaps lacking the urgency or unity of the label’s first instalment of 10th anniversary comps, ‘Hyperdub 10.2’ nevertheless successfully celebrates the diversity of a neglected side of its output.
