Recent EP 'Angels & Demons' was a stunning release, one packed with ideas, with a sense of purpose. Working on a track for Tricky's new album, the producer has now surprised fans by unleashing a free download EP.
'Mermaids' contains three cuts, with opener 'Home & Heartless' having a Burial influenced sense of space. But then there's that vocal: half-way between Gonjasufi and a rusted, decaying robot, it's hip hop belched out by London's fragmented nether regions.
Lizbet Sempa drops past on the title cut, while the EP ends with early cut 'Angels & Demons'.
