Yep, they're covering Stereolab
Toronto's music scene is almost literally overflowing with fantastic talent.
Simply put: if you threw a coin up in the air in Grand Electric then it would probably be caught by someone in a band. Or a rapper. Or a bedroom producer. Or...
You get the picture. *Greys* hail from Toronto and the band are more than a little bit fantastic. Debut album 'If Anything' emerged recently via Carpark Records, and it kicked like a mule.
Unafraid to rock, the Canadian group also throw plenty of acerbic, off kilter ideas into the mix. Arranging a series of European shows, Greys have also handed Clash a special cover version.
'The Noise Of Carpet' is a track cult by British group Stereolab. Removing the self-conscious experimentalism, the Canadian band retain the essential motorik groove but add plenty of NOIZE.
Check it out.
Greys have confirmed the following UK shows:
*October*
20 *London* Electric Ballroom **
21 *Manchester* Gorilla **
22 Glasgow The Garage **
25 *Bristol* Simple Things Festival
27 *Brighton* The Hope
28 *Leeds* Brudenell Social Club
29 *London* 100 Club
* supporting DFA1979
