Bands tend to travel, and when they do, they both see and do things, eat things and meet things – people, even. And Clash, sometimes, likes to know about these adventures – hence, *Good Trip, Bad Trip*, our series devoted to bands’ on-the-road recollections.
This time, we’ve Kristian Bell (vocals/guitar) of Brighton-based psych-cum-grunge-rockers *The Wytches* spilling those backpacks-full beans on what his lot has been up to – and he even goes a little further back, to the memory of minty puke.

*Best Trip…*
“Driving through the desert on our American tour. Santa Fe was great.”
*Worst Trip…*
“Legoland ’06. I ate a whole share bag of soft mints and sicked on my trousers.”
*Our favourite foreign venue…*
“Definitely the Spiegelbar in Utrecht. It’s friendly and the locals seem to dig going there. I think they are quite passionate about the place from what we hear.”
*We’re surprisingly popular in…*
“Brazil. We’ve had a lot of coverage there. It’s strange that people somewhere so far away know your music. Hopefully we’ll visit for a tour soon.”
*Best or worst foodstuff had on the road…*
“My worst food is Turkish delight. Tastes like you’re eating chocolate-covered potpourri.”
*Most interesting individual you’ve met on the road…*
“A couple of people who have given us spiritual stones before. That was interesting.”
*Worst on-tour injury, or accident…*
“I had a fight with a shark in the Cardiff natural history museum. It came to life and I had to give him a good old biff.”
*My essential travel item...*
“Passport. You need it to get into other countries, so it’s the most essential item to carry. Next to my book of poems by *Leonard Cohen*.”
*My essential travel tip…*
“Bring something else to do to occupy your mind as you’ll end up with cabin fever and start to lose it. A book, a game, anything.”
