Growing up in a small town leaves its impact.
Perhaps Andy Warhol put it best, when he said: "There's only one good thing about a small town, it makes you want to get out."
*Eaves*, presumably, shares similar feelings. With his deft, folk inspired guitar picking and softly emotive voice, the rising songwriter turns his frustration into something beautiful.
Debut EP 'As Old As The Grave' will be released on November 10th through Heavenly Recordings, a compact introduction to his world.
New cut 'Alone In My Mind (For Mannington Bowes)' is online now, a moving song which is seemingly a true story about a local man named Richard Mannington Bowes.
Eaves explains: "He tried to extinguish a fire outside his shop and got attacked by a kid and died in hospital not long after. That was the price for his courage and this song expresses a frustration at the idea of human apathy."
There are shades of Jackson C Frank here, of Bert Jansch and early Paul Simon. Yet there are modern flourishes, nods towards the likes of Keaton Henson or even Johnny Flynn.
