Invited to play Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin, Texas the duo discovered that they were in the middle of a stage clash with Sun Kil Moon.
Of course, the latest time this happened Sun Kil Moon songwriter Mark Kozelek started a beef with The War On Drugs.
Realising this, El-P leaped onboard the meme. Speaking to the crowd, the rapper said: "So I introduced myself and said, ’Hey, I’m a fan. We’re the guys that are going to be interrupting your set today with how fucking loud our crowd is.’ [...] And he said, ’What’s your name?’ And I said, ’Run The Jewels,’ and — I swear to God — he said, ’Suck my dick, Run The Jewels.’ And I said, ’Suck my dick, Sun Kil Moon.’ And I’m actually a fan of this dude’s record."
Following this, El-P then asked the crowd to chant: "Suck my dick, Sun Kil Moon."
It seems to be all fun and games, though, with the rapper signing off by saying: "We mean that with all due respect. I’m actually a fan of your music."
