Impeccable folk-rock from the former Gomez singer...With his rough hewn voice and Delta blues inspired songwriting, *Ben Ottewell* helped take *Gomez* (literally) from their dad's garage to the top of the charts.
Now solo, the English singer recently decided to piece together a new album. Working with childhood friend Sam Genders, previously of Tunng, the pair opted for something more natural, more stripped down.
'Rattlebag' is the result. Due for release on December 8th, the material has a natural feel - not so much rootsy, but delightfully English in a pared back fashion.
Clash is able to premiere the new video for the title track, and it's a delight. Showcasing Ben's powerful voice, the track has a light, country tinge which sits alongside the power of his songwriting.
The animated clip picks up on these whims and idiosyncrasies, a gently pieced together video which focusses on gentle humanity.
