Birmingham house producer and DJ *Steve Lawler* is someone’s who’s been around long enough to not only have the T-shirt, but to have worn it right through and ordered a dozen more. A veteran of labels such as Boxed, Ministry Of Sound and Bedrock, his name has stood as a symbol of satisfaction, guaranteed for no little time.
Which doesn’t mean the man can’t still surprise, as his material continues to evolve. Stitched into the very fabric of global dance culture though he is, Lawler finds room to move, for expression beyond any genre trappings. His forthcoming two-track EP for *Seth Troxler*’s Play It Say It label, ‘That’s House’, packs a pair of complementary cuts that showcase an innate ear for a compulsive groove, and a desire to progress the old school into the next era of house and acid.
From said EP we have ‘Most Beautiful Girl’, a hypnotic whirl of electro that also finds space for some essential swing to surface. The beats are solid, the rhythms liquid – what a mix.
‘That’s House’ is released on November 17^th. *Find Lawler online here*.
