So when the group encounter some real life difficulties – such as Billie Joe Armstrong’s spell in rehab – fans are justifiably shocked.
Sadly, the band’s Jason White is now encountering some health issues. In a short statement, Green Day confirmed that the musician is battling a ‘treatable form of tonsil cancer’, before asking for ‘love and positive healing vibes’.

We have some news to report regarding our brother Jason White, and wanted you to hear it from us before word spread. Jason recently underwent a routine tonsillectomy, and his doctors discovered a treatable form of tonsil cancer. Thankfully they caught it early and he should make a full and speedy recovery.
