*Good Trip, Bad Trip* invites artists to recall memorable on-the-road adventures – both the good stuff, and the bad.
Here, we’ve *Circa Waves*’ Sam Rourke filling us in on the Liverpool outfit’s escapades. Ahead of that, the video to new single ‘Fossils’, released on January 19^th. The band’s debut album, ‘Young Chasers’, follows in March.

*Best Trip…*
“It’s hard to say! Probably our UK tour last year, though. It was our first solo tour on big stages, and all the crowds were insane. Loads of mosh pits, crowd surfing and a broken foot somewhere. Things got pretty out of hand.”
*Worst Trip…*
“Probably playing a festival in Belgium, coming off stage then immediately driving to Scotland to play T In The Park. Great gigs, but as a commute it was tough.”
*My favourite foreign venue…*
“*The Truskel* in Paris was really fun. About 100 people squeezed in this pub, and there was a flat above for a dressing room stocked with champagne. Down the road there’s an absinthe bar, too.”
*We’re surprisingly popular in…*
“We’ve just had our first headline show in Japan and it was amazing. I don’t think any of us expected to be gigging here so soon and have a reaction like that.”
*Best or worst exotic foodstuff…*
“Pig intestine is basically rubber, but with a taste worse than death.”
*The most interesting individual I've met on the road…*
“I met a Taiwanese label owner in this tiny bar in Tokyo with about five seats and a karaoke machine. He insisted on buying triple whiskeys for everyone all night. He was drinking them like water, too.”
*Worst on-tour injury, accident or infection…*
“On tour I usually end up getting cuts all up my arms from playing. At Leeds Festival in 2014, my bass was covered in blood by the end of the set. I only noticed because of the strange wet sensation down my arm.”
*My essential travel item…*
“Headphones. On long drives it’s great to just listen to all the music that you don’t have time to get through normally. We’re all into different stuff, so there are constantly new albums to get into.”
