Endearing, eccentric songwriting...*Myles Manley* is something of a unique figure.
Born in the UK but raised in Sligo, the rising artist studied mathematics before devoting himself to music.
Becoming immersed in New York's anti-folk scene, the songwriter then returned to Dublin to focus on something individual.
New album 'More Songs' is due to be released on February 23rd via Trout Records, and it's an eccentric yet engrossing collection.
Clash is able to premiere 'I Love Her Family' and it's a neat reminder of what to expect. Stretching out over eleven minutes, the soft, tender, narrative is under-pinned by a riff which is equal parts Pavement and Velvet Underground.
Yet there's a folk touch to the songwriting, an endearing honesty which sets Myles Manley apart.
