After losing 'Blurred Lines' case...
Almost infuriatingly catchy, 'Blurred Lines' became one of the most widely dissected pop songs of the decade thanks to its rather dubious lyrics and – ahem – questionable video.
Co-written by *Robin Thicke* and *Pharrell Williams*, the track bore more than a passing resemblance to Marvin Gaye's classic piece of liquid funk 'Got To Give It Up'.
So much so, in fact, that the family of the late Motown icon took the writing team to court. Verdict was delivered last night.
Messrs Thicke and Williams have been found guilty of copyright infringement, with the pair now being forced to pay damages.
Robin Thicke is the hardest hit and must pay nearly $7.4 million. Neither were found guilty of wilfully infringing copyright, though, so have avoided paying statutory damages.
