Intimate new recording...
This is all still startlingly new for Joel Baker.
Hell, until recently the Nottingham raised singer still had a day job. Now, though, he’s out on tour with Ella Eyre, playing to a different crowd every night.
Set to perform at Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London on Friday (October 10^th) the show is due to be a real milestone for this young, unassuming talent.
With that in mind, Joel Baker has handed Clash a brand new track. Working with The Confect – who have producing for JP Cooper – this is a demo version, a deliberately raw recording of ‘Hot Air Balloon (All I Want Is You)’.
The simple arrangement seems to suit his voice, with Joel Baker turning in one of his most emotive recordings to date. Written in Berlin, the track both longs for home and admits a desire to find someone put everything else to one side.
Rising in intensity, it’s yet another indication that this rising singer should be ignored at your peril.
Listen to it now.
