Plus: his band unveil Harvest protest...
It’s been a year of mixed fortunes for *Morrissey*.
The singer may have received acclaim for new album ‘World Peace Is None Of Your Business’ but a dispute with label Harvest (briefly) took it off the shelves.
Independent once more and searching for safe harbour, Morrissey is currently completing a series of European shows. The singer’s band made their feelings known onstage in Lisbon, emerging clad in t-shirts with the slogan ‘FUCK HARVEST’.
Elsewhere, Morrissey gave a frank interview to Spanish newspaper El Mundo. Translated by *the Guardian*, the singer seemed to reveal that he had undergone a number of cancer scares in recent years.
“They have scraped cancerous tissues four times already,” Morrissey told the newspaper, “but whatever.”
Continuing, the singer said: “If I die, then I die. And if I don’t, then I don’t. Right now I feel good. I am aware that in some of my recent photos I look somewhat unhealthy, but that’s what illness can do. I’m not going to worry about that, I’ll rest when I’m dead.”
