Fall Out Boy create Flappy Bird app called Fall Out Bird as North Devon residents sell iPhones online to cash in on hype This is North Devon -- A famous band have created a new app to rival Flappy Bird – just as several North Devon residents put their iPhones up for sale to cash in on the hype. Fall Out Boy has created an app called Fall Out Bird which is set to be launched on IOS and Android later this week. It is said to be similar to the Flappy Bird app which was created by Vietnamese man Dong Nguyen but removed earlier this week after the creator claimed its fame "ruined his simple life". Flappy Bird had been downloaded more than 50 million times, making it the most popular mobile game of the year so far. And now people have started selling their phones with the app on them for extortionate amounts of money. An iPad mini and iPad 3 both with the app installed are currently on eBay with bids having reached up to 150,500. North Devon residents have been trying their luck by putting their phones with the app on the Items for Sale in Barnstaple, Bideford, Braunton, Ilfracombe & South Molton Facebook group. Charlie Holding from Barnstaple wrote: "Black iPhone 4S 8gb good condition rare flappy bird game installed £5000 ovno" Paul Evans, also from Barnstaple posted: "iPhone 4S 16 gb 02 network black rare flappy bird installed £15,000" Although the game is no longer available, it still works on phones that already have it downloaded. It is understood the new Fall Out Bird app was created in just 24 hours with the band's official Twitter account revealing: "Rome wasn't built in a day, but this game was. In the spirit of Fall Out Boy Trail, we bring you #FallOutBird." It is not the first time the American band has released a parody of a hit-game. Fall Out Boy Trail was launched in 2008 off the back of classic game Oregon Trail, and was adapted to promote Fall Out Boy's album Folie À Deux. Reported by This is 20 hours ago.
